I had the pleasure of working with Malama Honua PCS K, 1, and 3rd grade came to Ulupo today, their entire school except for 2nd grade. We are making plans to host them every Monday since they come to the YMCA for swimming that day anyway. One of the kumu is the sister of Noa Hussey, the executive director of the YMCA. Besides being hard workers cleaning a loi, these kids are akamai loa and makaukau especially when it comes to oli/mele and retaining moolelo.

Today I had the pleasure of working with ke kula kaiapuni o Waiau. Had a chance to hai moolelo with them as well as huli ka lima i lalo. Here are some of the kii from today.

I find myself nearly overwhelmed by the sound Hawaiian being spoken, via youtube, by a Hawaiian navigator on a double-hulled canoe as it crosses THE ATLANTIC OCEAN from Africa with "only" ancestral knowledge (and presence, and hō‘ailona) to show the way.
