Big Turnout, Even Bigger Results

6/11/2016

Aloha mai e na hoa,
Sorry I couldnt be with you guys at the parade today, I hope it went well. This is what Kaimi and I were up to instead. We had about 35 people with us at today's second Saturday community workday including Hanaloa and his ohana, Kimo, 5 regulars, Kalamaehu and Anianiku. The top picture is what this area originally looked like last year before I talked to Hanaloa about clearing it. The second is how we started off our morning, clearing all the lau niu and stumps from the 8 niu I cut before the group got there. And the third is the end result of a cleared slope and a newly reclaimed loi. Before we started today, the weeds were continuous up below the kukui and to the tarp covering our kiawe. It's kind of hard to appreciate the amount of work done by looking at the pictures, but you will understand when you ‘ike maka.
Ke aloha,
Kaleo
